Ethics & Responsibiltiy

At TVA, we are united by a shared mission, a set of values we refuse to compromise on, and a belief that ethical hiring is not a differentiator; it is the baseline.

This page outlines the standards, obligations, and protections that govern every placement TVA facilitates between clients and operations professionals sourced from African talent markets. We put this in writing because accountability means nothing without transparency.

These commitments are not aspirational. They are operational.

For the purpose of this page:

“Talent Professional” refers to any operations professional placed or represented by TVA.

“Client” refers to any business or individual engaging TVA’s staffing services.

“Placement” refers to the formal engagement of a Talent Professional by a Client through TVA’s retainer structure.

TVA maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward any practice that devalues, misclassifies, or financially exploits Talent Professionals. This includes, but is not limited to:

Wage Suppression TVA does not price talent based on geographic location or country of origin. Compensation is determined by skill, scope, and output — not by what a market will bear.

Misclassification of Employment Status All placements are structured with full transparency regarding the nature of the working relationship, compensation terms, and scope of engagement. Talent Professionals are never misrepresented in their classification.

Unpaid Trial Periods or Speculative Work TVA does not facilitate or permit trial arrangements in which Talent Professionals perform substantive work without compensation. Every hour of work is a paid hour of work.

Scope Creep Without Compensation Adjustment Clients engaging TVA talent are bound by clearly defined scope terms. Any material expansion of duties triggers a formal review and, where applicable, a compensation adjustment.

TVA sources exclusively from verified, credential-bearing talent pipelines. All Talent Professionals in TVA’s active roster hold certifications from accredited programs, including ALX Africa, and have undergone TVA’s internal vetting process prior to client introduction.

TVA does not engage in or tolerate:

Deceptive Recruitment Practices Including misrepresentation of role scope, compensation, or working conditions at any stage of the recruitment process.

Recruitment Fees Charged to Candidates Talent Professionals are never charged for placement, onboarding, or representation by TVA. Ever.

Discriminatory Screening TVA does not screen, exclude, or disadvantage any candidate based on nationality, gender, religion, age, or any other protected characteristic.

Clients engaging TVA talent agree, by execution of TVA’s service agreement, to uphold the following:

Professional Treatment Treat Talent Professionals with the same standard of professional respect afforded to any member of their internal team.

Non-Circumvention Refrain from direct solicitation, circumvention, or independent engagement of TVA Talent Professionals outside of TVA’s documented conversion process. Any breach of this obligation may trigger TVA’s conversion fee provision.

Enabling Environment Provide a working environment — including tools, access, and communication norms — that enables the Talent Professional to perform their agreed scope effectively.

Any material breach of these obligations is grounds for immediate termination of the service agreement.

TVA is not a marketplace. We are a boutique agency with direct relationships on both sides of every placement. That means we are accountable — to our Talent Professionals and to our Clients — in a way that anonymous platforms are not.

If a Talent Professional raises a concern about their working conditions, compensation, or treatment by a Client, TVA will investigate and act. If a Client has a legitimate performance concern, TVA will mediate. In either case, the process is documented, transparent, and resolved — not ignored.

Ethical hiring is not a trend TVA adopted for optics. It is the reason TVA exists.

The Virtual Alliance was built on the premise that world-class operations talent exists across African tech hubs — in Nairobi, Lagos, Accra, Dar es Salaam, and Kampala — and that the standard industry practice of undervaluing that talent is both wrong and shortsighted.

Our sustainability commitment is simple: every placement TVA facilitates should make the Talent Professional’s economic position better, make the Client’s business more capable, and leave no room for exploitation in between.

That’s the model. That’s the standard. That’s non-negotiable.

TVA operates under a framework of ethical, transparent, and accountable business practices. All service agreements are documented in writing and provided to both clients and Talent Professionals prior to the commencement of any engagement. TVA reserves the right to update these policies at any time. Active clients and Talent Professionals will be notified of any material changes in writing prior to their effective date.
